Did you know RSS and how it works?

Internet is our means to communicate and socialize, get fresh news and use to buy stuffs online. The interconnection of computers has brought changes to the lives of simple individual today most specially to bloggers, SEO practitioners and marketers. Thus, is it really essential to use and implement RSS.

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is a standardized system for the distribution of content, esp. news, from an online publisher to Internet users. To give you a more detailed explanation of what is RSS?, you can check the following video.


Now, do you understand RSS? Now, activate your syndication using your account on gmail and follow the steps below.
  1. Put http://feedburner.google.com on your address bar and hit enter
  2. Activate the Google syndication service
  3. Type your blog/site address on the welcome entry (Burn a feed right this instant.)
  4. Click next button then follow the available instructions that follows.
Important Note: Use your brand, name or other related tagline on your feedtitle like http://feeds.feedburner.com/journeyofanewbie/

Alright, so the next part is how to put email subscriptions and counter on your site. This is really important because if your readers and avid visitors likes and want to subscribe then they can immediately hit the subscribe button. So simple but really important because the many subscribers the better on your site. Check the following steps on how to promote your feeds.
  1. Do you see your first feed, right? Click on it.
  2. Select the Publicize tab (you can see the feed-counter, subscriptions and many more)
  3. Click on the email subscriptions (left sidebar menu)
  4. copy the code then paste it on your desired area (Possible to put after the post entry wherein every post has it.
  5. Lastly, you can try subscribing on my journey by putting your email address and hitting the SUBSCRIBE button.
